Is there any software similar to metatrader linked to the JSE, I want something that will alert me when certain prices are exceeded.

You won't find any live prices for free. That is why OST and other products offer the 15min delayed products because then the JSE doesn't charge for it.

The prices you see on Google, and Yahoo, Finance is the last executed trade. These prices may be live but what you can not see is the bid/ask spread or the bid/ask size or whether the trade is executed at the bid price or at the ask price. Having access to this information is vital to determine price action, i.e. where does the price want to go to. This type of data is rarely free.
