Well its nice to see smilie posts again.
Services were restored Monday afternoon so all the myths and accusations will hopefully now be put to rest.
This was an accident and although people like blaming someone, no one (not you noone) was really to blame and was an oversite.
Basically it took everyone by surprise and left a lot of head scratching hence the lack of immediate response.
We did loose a pipe in a manner of speaking although we were'nt supposed to have the pipe in the first place if that makes sense, anyway we now got a bit more than what we started off with [:)]

Durban will also soon notice an additional improvement [;)]

On another note, during our investigations we noted that although we sold X number of 512k systems, there are many more 512k systems running that what was sold.
This will come to and on the 25th May and those people may be taken to book and switched off [:(!]

How is it possible for people to have a 512k package if they didn't buy it? Can you "hack" your package to be 512? How unfair is it for people stealing our precious bandwidth?

it is indeed good to be back - well done guys!

i am with Shadow on this one! that's unfair, but is it possible?

could it be a setting on Sentech's side that was allowing them to go that high?

How can Sentech be sure that they are switching off the right people???

**Shudder** I can see a whole new round of issues - as paying customers are accidentally switched off, and then have to take lie-detectors and blood samples to prove they are actually loyal paying customers...

ProASM, I hope Sentech is really carefull about verifying a user's status before turning them off!

Oh dont worry, we can see who's on, what Tower they on, what NodeB they connected to, their Username etc, and what package they are on. Its just a case of doing a cross reference.
The chances of anyone getting knocked off is about zero unless they have really being eating the guts out of it, so relax.

Heya Pro,

Good to see you back in business ;-)

While I realise you cannot divulge too much - how is it that so many 512's are out there ?

LOL, we got like a couple of "skeleton" username/passwords that are used by certain people, just makes life easier and they are all 512k's and somehow these leaked out, which will now be plugged.

R rattles the old skeletal bones and asks Pro ... so any more of those laying around ;-) I'd love to see just how nice 512 is ;-) grin.... (joking)

Good to hear those are getting sorted out.

That is very likely as most of the resellers have the same usernames and passwords.

Use these for testing and occationally to get clients up and running faster as Sentech is terribly slow at issuing User & Pass.

That is also the reason why Sentech will not sell the unit on it's own.

Hmm.

I signed up with nowireless, and have been using a user name and password provided by them until I'm given my own logon details.

Donovan, if ProAsm's 'fix' cuts ME off, you're in a world of hurt.

And, I know what you look like, SO DON'T TRY TO HIDE.. [:)]

You may not loose it, but it will probably drop to 128k.

Thanks ProAsm, and guys before we try and destroy the only real competition and alternative to tel*** lets just think before we talk. We need these guys because without Sentech its just Tel***, and we all know what that means. I would rather die than go back to them and im sure u all feel the same.[;)]

Fantasy is what people want, reality is what they need.

*sign* And I signed on for the 256k package..

Donovan, I suggest you don't even bother to pack..[:D]

Ok, so correct me if I'm wrong, but resellers have been giving out the wrong username and passwords for the MyWireless service ?

If that's the case, I'm sure glad I went through Sentech !

Hello.
Sentech debited R500 Activation fee from my account on last Monday, and it's almost Thursday now.
I sent an email last week and got a reply that I should expect Berco to contact me on last Monday or last Tuesday.
Should I just wait for them to get my thing delivered or should I do something about it?

Did you phone Berco and ask them about it? I'd say phone Berco and ask.

desraid - go fetch it... it's much less trouble... they're in Linbro park, Jhb.

just take your contract and ID with you.
