Goodbye all

Quitting your job and trying to do everything at once... Sure you're not going through a manic episode?
Got pills? Maybe try happy pills like the rest of us. Sertraline is the shizzle.

I know you are joking a little, but the MOST dangerous things someone having a manic episode could ever do is take an antidepressant. That's just begging for an extreme (and likely fatal) case of mania. This is obvs not medical advice, but please kids don't try this at home.

Yeah sorry about that... need to take a mood stabilizer as well. A doc will prescribe whatever is appropriate. In my case it's seroquel.
On a more serious note... no shame in depression and taking meds for it. I was afraid it would dull my mind or something, but i'm lucky enough to experience no negative side effects.

Okay so update.......

I no longer work at that shitty place, apparently many people left after I did.
Soooo I'm not going to be able to attend university this year (Long story), but I'm committed guys, I've been teaching myself to code. At the moment I'm learning Python.
I'm not able to work at the moment but I am covered where funds are concerned, seeing that quite a few of you are more knowledgeable (older) and are involved in the tech industry what would your advice be?
I have the chance to rectify my actions and I'm gonna take it.
My idea is to learn as much as I can, I've had a look at places like http://www.it-academy.co.za/ but it looks like something I can learn on my own with the relevant material.

I know this looks like a rant but I feel at home with this community.
Thank guys, I appreciate all your support.

Glad you still have some drive in you and that you are no longer working in that toxic place!

There are many online places where you can learn these things for free or at a very small cost. I dont know how much it will be worth in an interview etc but Im sure people will see that you are trying to better yourself even under difficult financial times.

There's also a free linux 101 course which covers a lot of Linux things which I still want to do this year.

How much Python have you got under your belt so far?

None besides what I've already learnt and I don't consider that progress because I'm basically just following an instruction, there's very little thinking power involved besides debugging and staring at that the errors in the console :/
But I'm persistent, I've taken a step back looked at my life and considered if I'd be happy doing this for the rest of my life or until I am financially capable to do whatever I want without giving it too much thought.
Don't get me wrong I'm not seeking financial gain but hey I gotta eat no?
Let me put it this way, the technology industry has made a huge impact in my life and I believe coding is the way to rekindle that passion I once had , I joined this forum in 2013 but I've been lurking for much longer I've read through most of the content on here purely out of interest.

Thanks dude I appreciate you, I love linux have been using it for a while but I can only hop back on that wagon once I get a replacement mobo (thanks Eskom), for now I'm using a potato laptop that I salvaged a while ago and I'm not comfortable dual booting or live usb with persistence.

If you're gonna self study then at least start some personal coding projects. Will let you apply what you've learned and can also become a body of work you can use to apply for other positions. Don't let some random how-to-code site determine the speed at which you progress. Dive deep.

So start personal coding project(s), after I've learnt the basics right? I see where you're coming from, and yes I'll be diving as deep as I possibly can.
Thank you @saor I appreciate your input.

Another update: The University I applied has agreed to let me start class tomorrow, I was really persistent because nobody was returning my calls/emails until I started getting the dean involved, I received an email from the faculty head, spent Friday from 8 am till 4 pm in town at campus running from pillar to post, eventually got through to all the right people and just need to fill in some paperwork tomorrow, its crazy that I need to do all of this again considering I was a student about 2/3 years ago. I guess this is my last chance and I'm going to take advantage of it. Oh and I'm still working on my own personal projects :)

Good news dude... take the bull by the horns and study your ass off.

And find areas that interest you outside of that and dive into them... keep learning, it is one of those things that generally won't do you wrong, even if the stuff you are learning doesn't necessarily seem applicable.

So the OP didn't leave?

Do we get a refund atleast?
