I know this is an old-ish thread and possibly slightly off topic, but this has to at least be mentioned. If you use the Google ecosystem often. Docs, sheets, presentations, mail, calender and video calling. Stick to chrome.
If you want extra privacy (away from Google basically) hit up Firefox.
They are so close these days. It's literally the icon, and who you want to give your data to.
What do I use? Brave and Safari, but I test in Firefox regularly.
If I had to recommend a browser to my family? Safari![]()
It might not be a popular web browser, but when last did you try Opera browser? Having a free VPN is a nice bonus and it works.
We did a simple comparison a few years back to check which browser used the least amount of memory. Test was between Firefox, Chrome and Opera. Really simple test, but that was basically the only objective. Opera used the least memory having one page (same page on all) open and one new tab. The test was on a older slower laptop, so we were looking for a browser that was easier on the limited resources.
Opera might be a solution to some, we've been using it for a few years and happy with it. Although we use a few others as well for testing.
