My SIM has now been disabled for non payment of my overbilling.
Now using prepaid.
We all know of the overbilling issue from April. Was charged April, May and June in one account. Queried this twice and 3 months later, still no reply from them only to be cut off half way during this months cycle. I will surly not pay for the whole month.
ICASA also did not help or give me a ref. no.

Are you prepared to take this to court?

IANAL though.

You'll need to find a good lawyer though. Tell him the whole story, with proof (documents, payments, bills) to back it all up.

Problem is lawyers charge just for talking to you.

Have you tried the HelloPeter route?

HelloPeter is worth a try though.

Maybe if Marco can find two or more people with the same problems, they can ask a lawyer for a pro bono case?

Shame dude - isn't there anyone who monitors ICASA? They're so ****ing useless...

Maybe its time MyBroadband do a proper article on MTN overbilling/incorrect billing - think its been going on for ages...

PM rpm and see what he says.

JUST keep those emails sent and your all the proof cause if you refuse to pay anything they WILL blacklist you m8 and that suck. So if you have that and they blacklist you without contacting you the you go and see a lawyer and sue for defimation of caracter [sorry for spelling!!!!!]

Then you get lots of moneys! :-)

The NCA states that they MUST give you notice before they put negative entries on ITC to give you time to correct it.

This months bill states that I have 15 free weekend mins. rollover of my DATA??? WTF.

To top it all. Got an sms saying that I can upgrade as my contract ends next week, but MTNActive website still shows that I can't due to "COLLECTION"

I have seen a lawyer for advice and he told me to wait for a summons from MTN. But he cannot see me loosing the case.

Mybroadband did run 3 articles on this.
One on overbilling issues and MTN is mum on this and not replying.
Another one on MTN saying that some people where billed twice for the same month and they should disregard the second one.
Then the boss man Leon Nel stating that they are aware of the overbilling prob and this is due to the new software update in April.
