I have a bit of an issue with customs, and am hoping that someone will have some advice or suggestions:
I work with a photography agency that has a contract to produce content for an Italian shoe manufacturer. A collection of those shoes in sample size is shipped to South Africa, where we shoot the images. Following the shoot, the shoes are all shipped back to the manufacturer.
We have used this method numerous times previously, and never had any problems getting the samples into or out of the country. The latest shipment has unfortunately been held at Customs in OR Tambo airport. DHL has now stated that they require an importers code to release the shipment. Naturally a photography agency doesnt have this. Is there any way that the shipment can be cleared? Does anybody know a guy?
This is quite urgent as the photographer who is meant to be doing the shoot is only in the country for the next few days.
