HI Guys

I've been having problems since Thursday / Friday with my ADSL. I don't know what my line stats were but I've been downloading and playing online games with no (or very limited) issues for the last month, yet suddenly mi internet is slow and my ping in speed tests are 1000+!!!

My line stats (after switching to G.DMT):
Downstream rate: 4096 kbps
Upstream rate: 512 kbps
PPPoE pass-through: Enabled
ADSL Line

Status: Cable connected
Line mode: G.DMT
Maximum line rate: 8128 kbps (upstream)
Noise margin: 18.5 dB (upstream)
Line attenuation: 20.7 dB (upstream)
Output power: 10.9 dBm (upstream)

Is there something I'm missing, it all looks ok to me??

Needless to say I can't even connect to online servers which I guess is due to my ping.

I'm on 4Mbps ADSL

What was your modulation before you set it to go to?

I think it was ADSL2+, althought I'm not sure. I read on here that pople were getting better stats with G.DMT and therefor changed it hoping things will get better but nope, just did a test again and got:

Ping: 1044ms
D/L: 0.25Mbps
U/L: 0.23Mbps

In the past you could get better stats but it might not play nicely with your exchange or DSLAM. Look at the "EXCHANGE CONGESTION" sticky to check if your exchange is over utilised.

If you in G'wood..we sharing the same exchange..WGWD...have no issue with my 10Mbits line..had it installed on Friday...solid as a rock. Your line stats looks fine...maybe an ISP issue? Get yourself a free Afrihost account and test...I have them as ISP..and no real issues, since they moved to their new network.

Just wanted to change my Line Mode back to Automatic, just to see that I never actually changed it. It is still on Auto but the line mode says G.DMT, thus it is selecting G.DMT automatically??

Loaded some downloads last night and let it run through the night, all done this morning and I could see that they were running at 365+ KB/s. Did a speed test this morning:
06:30
Ping: 32ms
D/L: 3.53Mbps
U/L: 0.4Mbps

Did one again just now and got:
17:20
Ping: 861ms
D/L: 0.34Mbps
U/L: 0.19Mbps
