Google’s Mobile Revenue: Only 20% from Android, a Whopping 80% from iPad and iPhone
According to figures that Google provided in to the court as part of Oracle’s patent and copyright infringement case, Google has earned less than $550 million from Android from 2008 to 2011.
While the reported $38 billion in total revenues for 2011, most of that came from paid search results that were provided to desktop computer users. $550 million from Android across four years essentially means that the software is just a small fraction of Google’s mobile revenue.
Google reported earnings of $1 billion in mobile revenues in 2011, so if the money isn’t coming from Android, where is Google getting the lion’s share of its mobile revenue?
iOS.

Google's So Freaked Out About The iPad And Lousy Android Sales That It's Opening An Online Tablet Store
Why is Google opening an Android tablet store?
Because sales of Android tablets have been horrible.
In the smartphone market, Google was able to partner with carriers to push Android-based smartphones. These distribution channels were effective, and Android quickly amassed the leading global market share (although in the U.S., Apple has been clawing back share and closing the gap).
On a positive note, Google making its own gadgets could begin to cure the Android fragmentation problem. The tablet distribution market, however, is completely different: Google and its hardware partners have to rely on retailers to sell the tablets. And if those retailers also sell Apple products, they have had to agree to give Apple products much more visibility and promotion. So Android tablets have largely been ignored by consumers.

The iPhone Is Gobbling Up Market Share -- Android Has Gone Flat
Apple is successfully defending itself from the onslaught of Android, according to fresh data from Nielsen.
Over the last three months, 43% of the people in the U.S. that bought smartphones bought iPhones. Android is still beating Apple with 48% share, but the bad news for Android is that its marketshare growth is dead in the water.
As you can see in the chart on the right, Android market share has gone flat. Apple is now the one stealing share from incumbents, not Android.
How did this happen? Apple is now on Verizon and Sprint, which means more people can buy the iPhone. Also, Apple offered the 3GS for free with a contract, and the iPhone 4 for just $100.
