Google assistant unresponsive

I got a y9 prime a few days ago and my Google assistant keeps going off (become unresponsive to hey google) . If I restart or deactivate and reactivate the assistant it starts working again for a few hours and become unresponsive again.

It seems like a problem that have been around for a while now. All the suggestions from other pages have not solved it.

Have anyone encountered the same problem and found a permanent solution?

Have you checked that Google services are not subject to battery optimisation/power management?

I have a pixel phone and sometimes Google assistant just ignores me. Like it will open but not respond to my questions. It's apparently a Google Android problem because my google nest speakers never have this problem.

I have the same issue on my Galaxy S8. It'll work for days, and then suddenly when I need it most in traffic on a Friday afternoon it'll not respond. I don't need to reboot my phone though, I just hold the "home" button which activates it manually, and then it'll work for a while again.

I have set the google and assistant app to not allowed for battery optimisation/ power management, but it still becomes unresponsive. In the search bar the " Say Hey google" disappears, and that is when it is unresponsive.
