I'm looking for either a Windows 7 gadget, or Google Desktop gadget (or application) that is essentially like the Google Desktop Calendar gadget but without having to be online. I need something that can sync with Google Calendar when I am online, but has the ability to add/delete events when I'm offline (most of the day)

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Sysem

Syncs with Google Calendar .... hmmmmm
You know that the entire Google apps range of products can work in offline mode?
Try googling for "Google Apps offline mode".

The Google Calendar gadget runs offline and allows me to view and tasks, but wont let me add/delete new events without having an internet connection. Same goes for Google Calendar in general. The offline mode is read only.
It doesnt need to sync with Google Calendar if, as a stand alone app, is sufficient. Outlook with its calendar is too bulky, and I need it to run all the time, in order for alerts to happen.

You're correct, it's offline mode is read-only.
Bleugh, I really did not know that, thanks for teaching me.

You'll have to try:
Timebridge Basic : http://www.timebridge.com/pages/pricing
or
Jiffle : http://www.jifflenow.com/website/features

Both claim to synch with google calendar.
But, I am struggling to find any information regarding their offline capabilities, they may be worse than Google Calendar regarding offline capabilities.

Bleugh, forgetaboutit, I cannot find a single product that synchs with Google calendar that even knows how to spell offline.

i see what you mean. that's a bit irritating.
have you tried windows live calendar/mail?
looks like it can import ics and supposedly work offline.

Thanks Nod, Mozilla Sunbird on its own seems sufficient with GCALDaemon.
