If you're subscribed to the beta channel of Google Chrome & using auto update feature, you'll see that you're now running Chrome 9.0.597.19 beta.
You can test hardware acceleration with the following tools :
Firefox test for hardware acceleration : http://demos.hacks.mozilla.org/openweb/HWACCEL/
*I could only manage 22 FPS with a nVidia Gefore GT 240 in Chrome 8, now I get 60 FPS.
Internet Explorer 9 beta "fishtank" : http://ie.microsoft.com/testdrive/Performance/FishIETank/
*Could not get more than 5 FPS with 1000 fish in the tank in Chrome 8, now I get 36 FPS with 1000 fish!
Very very happy!
