Google Chrome can permanently mute websites

Great. Will use. Love reading articles on CNN & Bloomberg. Despise the auto video that they indiscriminately thrust on me.

:)

Now getting my company to update Chrome is the next big hurdle...

Muting “reminder ads”
Google has also introduced a feature to its advert settings that lets users mute reminder ads in apps and on websites that use Google’s ad platform.

Reminder ads are advertisements for a product that you browsed for in the past.

“We plan to expand this tool to control ads on YouTube, Search, and Gmail in the coming months,” said Google.

Seeing ads for something you already searched for and ordered and received (say a smartphone) is totally pointless and won't lead to more sales, so yes, they should definitely do it.

i bought something on superbalist for my wife in december. for the next month i only saw superbalist ads on my phone and pc wherever i went. it's now been replaced by spree because she bought shoes. it doesn't mit it up a bit, it's just the same ads from the same places over and over. if anything, all it does is urinate me off.
