I have been working on something for a while now on a server.

But I have a problem. I have google chrome installed and it needs to open video links (working 100%)

If you say click on a hyper link, But it has come down to.. I need it always to open everything in the same window.

But now it keeps opening the video in a new tab when you click on a hyperlink outside of chrome? is there anyway around this

So you want the browser to just display one page if you click on a hyperlink that point to a different page then the current page should close and open the new one from the hyperlink?

yes 100%

It needs to overwrite current tab

Not at the pc currently but I sort of want to say that in chrome that's not possible at all. It will either open a new tab or a new window like a new instance of chrome.

Perhaps look at "one tab" it's a chrome extension that displays all your tabs in one window.
