Is anyone else noticing how slow this browser has become? My main issue is how unresponsive tabs become after a while, you hit the x to close them and it just stays there, then you end up closing tabs you didn't want to close because you're tapping like a madman.

Is It only on the iPad or is their anybody seeing this on other iOS devices too?

I am now moving back to Safari, it's a lot better in iOS 7 now, just wish it could sync with my Chrome browsers on other devices :(

I havnt had any hassles on my ipad with chrome becoming unresponsive. Which iOS are you running?
It would be tough going back to safari after chrome syncing.

Thanks, which gen iPad are you using?

I'm running iOS7 now but the problem existed on iOS6 also and no change when I upgraded.

So say if you have opened 5 tabs and you then you close it while you work with other apps, when you reopen Chrome can you immediately close those tabs with no delays?

Do you have videos in any of those tabs? Or other multimedia?

I've only had this happen while opening video pages which tells me it's something to do with the codecs or some such.

I use Safari most of the time anyone, since I have it running on my Mac and the syncing works better. But for work stuff Chrome does the job.

Sometimes but not always. Doesn't really matter what's in the tabs.

What you described sometimes happens with Chrome on my PC. Quite annoying. There was a time when tabs would close instantly, but for the last couple of months it sometimes becomes slow to respond.

I have not seen this very often. I am using iPad 2, iOS 6.1.2 JB, Chrome v29.0.1547.11

What I have seen mine doing is, I load a couple of tabs in the background, when I switch to them, they need to reload again. Anyone else with this issue?

Yes, this is understandable though as there is only so much memory available to keep the pages cached. This doesn't bug me, it's the fact that trying to click on those tabs in the first place takes forever.

Thanks for the responses, I'm beginning to think this issue is only on my device. At least it gives me a place to start, I am thinking it may be something to do with the syncing then - maybe there is some bad data somewhere with the bookmarks or history.

Will log out of my Google account and see if it has anything to do with the syncing.

Okay disabled syncing and didn't do jack.

I made a quick video of what it looks like. To replicate all I did was start a new session of Chrome, open a few tabs, closed Chrome (using home button), opened it again and then tried to navigate the tabs.

Result:

Maybe I'm nitpicking, but I find this delay extremely annoying and it doesn't do it on Safari so looks like I'll just move browsers then.

I still find it bizarre that I'm the only one having this issue. There is nothing wrong with my iPad as all my other apps run perfectly fine.

Going to try and reinstall again see what happens.
