Why can't I download the app?

What's it for? Android device, iPad, Windows PC. I have all 3 and it was very easy. Do you have enough memory and storage where you are trying to download it to?

Have you got a SA Apple Store account? Sometimes you cannot buy certain apps on an SA store, so you need a US Apple Store account.

Also check you are not getting timeout errors. Switch wi-fi off and on again. Must say I find my iPad (2) has dismal wi-fi performance. Whereas a HP laptop picks up the signal 15 metres away, the iPad will not. I tried all the suggested tweaks and it made little difference

That occurs when the application isn't available for the South Africa store.
Google Earth isn't on the SA App Store, so you will need to get a US/Kenya account.

I heard the US store was having issues over the weekend.

I got he app and it crash a lot when it tries to go 3d buildings.
