Google Error

nah thats old news, see it all started with the perl sanity worm (a little easy to code worm that was coded in perl and spread by attackign website software namely phpBB), basically rather than scanning a crap load of IPs to find servers running vulnerable web software like this forum for instance the worm just used google to find sites running the software, anyways it hit a bunch of sites in a few days so google eventually started blocking certain queries outright but it became too annoying for users so google started applying other rules to the blocking for instance if a worm says its browser is firefox 1.0 when searching google (by setting the User-Agent in the headers to firefox 1.0) then google will only block the query for users searchign that string with a browser that says its firefox 1.0. Google does eventually unblock the queries when the worm is no longer considered a threat though. But alot of the worms just use aol and yahoo to search now.

It has nothing to do with WBS' problems and the spyware and exploit bots they are talking about are all web based thus far (except for one version of SDBot which had it built in), actually when you see that page google updates a cookie on your box if you refresh and it sees the cookie it assumes you're human because worms don't try repeat on failure too much with somethign liek that.

I think google first blocked queries 'inurl:viewtopic?t=' around Jan 16th of this year
