Google faces anti-trust probe over DNS-over-HTTPS

Representatives in the US Congress are worried about Google’s intention to implement a new Internet Protocol that could possibly give them an unfair competitive advantage in Internet advertising, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal.

Google plans to test its DNS-over-HTTPS (DoH) protocol on the Chrome browser in October.

Just disable DoH or use DoH against Quad9, Cloudflare, OpenDNS, etc

DoH in the browser is a good thing. Used it to work around restrictive corporate snooping and blocking policy.

How can Google face an anti-trust probe unless they're the only ones using it? Can someone please post a layman's explanation?
