Google Go - an experimental open source programming language

Chipping away at Mirosoft's domination one step at a time. C# is great language, actually one of the better things that has come out of the Microsoft camp. Then again it wasn't Microsoft's own doing, they poached Anders Helsberg that crafted Delphi from Borland.

Geez, google are really spreading their wings. They've dominated the search realm, its just a matter of time for their browser to gain even more market share, then there's the new Operating System, now a language.

I would be very worried if I were Microsoft.

I stopped bying the expensive Microsoft Office suites and have gone for Open Office. A bit slower at starting up, but then again its FREE!

I thought the concurrency features introduced in Snow Lepoard (e.g. GCD - implemented at the level of plain C - seem like quite a good step forward.

Newspeak is about the most forward looking language I can think of at the moment, although it is still evolving. Apparently, one of the Newspeak developers is employed by Google. Hopefully it makes it into the mainstream, sometime.
