Google launches Pixel 4

Google revealed its Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL smartphones at its Made By Google event.

These new devices both feature improved camera systems and software, as well as a number of new sensors which enable the Motion Sense capabilities.

What is it with Google's obsession with having the most godawful looking devices on the planet. From the bathtub notch to a giant top bezel - possibly the only way to actually move backwards.

Maybe it's optimised to perform as if double or triple the capacity.
Doesn't matter. A bigger battery would simply go further. Worrying about battery life is nonsense at this point. OnePlus, Huawei and Apple all have flagships with insanely good battery life now.

Maybe, but then I would still prefer a battery that last 3x as long.
The Xiaomi Redmi 7, a $130 phone, has a 4000mAh battery.
Maybe they couldn't fit it.

Apple have done well in the past with small batteries that don't last too long.

No one seemed too bothered

Yeah but they have learnt from their mistakes and installed larger batteries in the new phone which is very efficient on power use.
