New Google Pixel launched

Alphabet’s Google launched a redesigned version of its budget Pixel phone, upgrading the chip and battery life weeks after Apple’s lower-end iPhone 16e went on sale.

The new Pixel 9a, announced Wednesday, costs $499 (R9,038), in line with the price of last year’s Pixel 8a.

Any update on SA launch?
I wonder if the 9 Pro will be available

I’m not sure why Google don’t actually release these phones to people officially

Huh..? They do release the phones to people officially, just not to SA and some other countries too, I am sure..

They do.

You can buy one here in the UK from most cell phone places.
I think this year (2025) is available in 32 countries.

The 1st year was something like 10 and then added 3 or 4 each year. Countries like Spain or Poland only got recently.

Its just been difficult for many countries to get them and I hear that UK is only a recent addition and still some things don’t work?

I think I got my numbers wrong - Pixel 4 (2020) was only 9?

Chipset is terrible anyway. For the price they charge I wouldn’t touch it.

If you call 2016… “recent”.

Yea - the thing is I don’t live there, so I could be wrong?

Everything else is wrong too? You disagree with limited distribution based on the amount of countries since launch?

You could just you know… use google instead of making up stuff?
Yea.

I guess you’re right.

I did think maybe the question mark gave it away though. Most people would get it.

But you’re an iPhone person, right? It does kinda explain it

And you’re a moron, so it does kinda explain it.
