Google on Tuesday rolled out a challenge to virtual world giant Second Life with free software that lets people create their own online 3D worlds that can be embedded on websites and melded with other online functions.

Will SA be able to take any part in this, with our exorbitant bandwidth costs?

All the files needed for lively amount to about 10MB and joining just an average room with one other person in it used again, about 10MB. After that, the bandwidth usage is very low. However when somebody joins the room lively needs to do quite a bit more downloading (for their avatar, etc.). Oh, and don't join rooms with lots of big LCD screens streaming video off youtube. XD Lively isn't that bad on your cap, but personally I would rather stick with IRC. :)
