I use google maps alot. But it regularly freezes. It stops to work, then it needs a force close, or I restart the phone. Over the weekend, I needed it and it froze. I use a moto defy. Is there another gps provram on thd market, or a fix to it.

The only other free alternative that I have used is waze, but i prefer google maps to it.

I used to use Google maps but more Google Nav on my Defy with no problems. No problems on my RAZR either. Have you maybe tried to uninstall and then reinstall Google Maps? Oh no wait...you cant remove Google Maps. Erm.....maybe a device reset?

I used Sygic Navigator when I was in Malaysia & here as well. Works brilliantly on & offline. Although downloading the maps took forever. I have a Note, but it should work on the Defy as well

Maybe you device is low on memory.

There is times that is does just works. How do I monitor the memory. And, can I enter waypointz on it.

I hate to suggest this, but maybe try doing a factory reset of your phone?

Oh cool. Supports Realtime traffic aswell. Will download this tonight when I have wifi. :-) Tnx.

Sygic isn't free. And technically google maps isn't either since it's offline navigation isn't very good so you pay data costs.

Heh?

I could have sworn it said free on Google Play. Will check again when I get home. Oh well....Google Nav is yet to let me down. Always worked well for me and uses very little data really. Not gonna break the bank for sure. :D

It's free for a month or something like that. Then you need to buy a map. Can't remember exactly but there's definitely fine print.

edit: just checked, it's free for 7 days
