I use Google Nav in cases where Waze is not sufficiently updated, but where possible I use Waze.

You can get the labs extension for Google maps that allows you to cache map areas.

A good one which is free and offline capable. MapDroyd.

That is not Voice Guided navigation, just mapping software using Open Street maps as a source for privately created tiles. They have voice navigation called Navdroyd and its crap, I bought it as it was one of the 1st to come out with totally offline navigation and its beyond crap.

If you make a wrong turn i will take forever to recalculate and the lag to update the maps from Open Street Maps takes forever(3-6 Months). Navfree and OsmAnd is much better application for using Open Street Maps as a source.

I use google maps alot. But it regularly freezes. It stops to work, then it needs a force close, or I restart the phone. Over the weekend, I needed it and it froze. I use a moto defy. Is there another gps provram on thd market, or a fix to it.

Try updating it with a newer version

By the way, I also had some problems on my defy when it runs slow as sh*t, especially when I get lost and really needed it.

Anyways, I was on CM7 nightlies and found certain versions are much better for googlemap and some not.

Are you running custom roms by any chance?
