I think some people may underestimate to what extent Google can (does?) gather personal information, especially for GMail users. You log into your gmail account of which the content is stored on Google servers, that gets combined with your search terms and online behavior like ads clicked on etc. I think they will be able to quite accurately predict the user’s demographics.
Up to that point I never knew Google keeps every single search you do.

Google does have street cameras in various cities in the USA...Google could become "The All Seeing Eye", but they need access to global RFID tracking, VISA/MasterCard data access, and video surveillance to make it a full house. A few acquisitions here and there can make it possible I guess.
