Google now modify default notification for events/appointments?

If I add an event with the Google calendar app the default notification is no notification as per the settings, if I add the event via voice using Google Now it adds a notification 15mins before the event as default.

I can find no way to prevent this, defeats the object of adding it quickly by voice if I have to reopen the calender app and edit the event I've just added to remove the notification.

Fsks I'm sick of complications.
Has anyone ever found a way around this, help would be appreciated!

No help here but I also recall being annoyed at voice entries not populating the default android calendar.
Not sure why there's no communication between the two.

It sucks, there must be a way around it though, I'm using the Google calendar app as well so I don't see why it shouldn't work.
