Google now

Dont have exact figures for you but I quite enjoy using it and it does pull quite a bit and will also eat into your battery.. but I enjoy it..

Far too usefull. When it's time to leave work and go home a google now card comes up with a maps card telling me which routes have traffic, and suggests alternate routes. It has cut down my home commute by 20minutes or so. its been correct about 70% of the time. SA is still lacking in data

I like Google Now.
As Crazymonkey159 says, its handy in that manner.
For a quick update on a route before I leave, its handy.
Also that it syncs my meetings or dentist appointments and gives me route info, is cool.

But - and its slightly Off Topic - as far as Maps go: Waze rules.
Crowd sourced info on the road, on the go - nothing quite like it!

Now - would be so much cooler, once more data/info is available to us.

For me, I keep track of: Routes, meetings, weather and Man United results and fixtures with it.

When travelling internationally it's very handy. I can at a glance say:

  • Time back in South Africa, for calls to people there
  • Pakistani Rupees vs SA Rands exchange rate
  • Tourist attractions nearby
  • Places to take photos nearby
  • Weather

In short, everything a bored tourist needs on a Saturday. And all of this appeared automatically.

Its hard to say for me because I use onavo extend app that reduces data usage but I would guess about 5mb per day max excluding searches and other internet activity. Its realy not that bad. I would never turn it off.
