Google Pixel 3a

Same question as usual, what will we get it for in SA. It's pointless unless you know someone that is willing to bring it in for you to bypass customs and expensive shipping.

You might as well then get a second hand flagship in good condition for R7-9k if this is the price it will land at like a OnePlus 6 or Galaxy S9 etc.

All in it will be around R7k or so to import. Call it R5.7k with the current exchange rate and then the rest for customs and shipping. A mail forwarding service could easily do the job

As far as the camera goes, I'd wait for the reviews. The Pixel 3a doesn't have Google's ISP like the premium Pixel 3s. Hopefully they still produce top notch photos.

I'm also waiting to see what Xiaomi does with the Mi A3 and A3 Lite. They are rumoured to come SD7xx chipsets.

So why would the Pixel 3a be android one?
Do you have a source that says it is Android One? As far as I have seen, it's a stock Google Android device.

As I said before, Android One gets put on 3rd party manufacturer phones...

As far as I know, Google devices are given priority. ie the Pixel line of phones.

Android one devices are guaranteed updates and security patches for 3 years I think. It doesn't mean updates come through as fast as Pixels. The Pixel is the holy grail basically.

Posts #5 and #6 are my source, although I realise I may have read those posts wrong

Only the night camera thingie seems like a reason to get this phone if you really care about that feature and it actually works as well as they claim.

The rest of the phone specs for the price is a total ripoff. It cost the same if not a bit more than a Xiaomi Mi 9 with FAR inferior specs. If you are on a even tighter budget the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE is priced even lower still and still beat out on specs.
