Google Play Store updated, gets wishlists

Now I can turn that sync thing back on again, makes me very happy :)

is a address still needed on google play(and will it work with itunes), and if, does it use a South african address?

Google Play doesn't limit access by address, well not physical, it limits access based on IP address so you can buy US apps with SA CC just use a proxy server/VPN and you are sorted.

As for Itunes, Should work, have not tried it personally but know of people that did.

Edit: In the good old days before paid access for South Africa, I use to use Market enabler using an SA CC. So that might also be an option if you do not have access to a proxy server/VPN for Google play

Not sure how safe it is to enter cc/google account details via proxy.

Well we talking VC pay here so don't know if you should worry to much about it. well unless you create a card with a million rand on it?

Oh and its https so you would need a proxy for that, do not think free ones will work for it anyway.

NVM I thought we were talking buying apps/music/movies not available in SA, via google account...

We are, but you create a card for the amount used via vcpay so its not full access to all your funds. Also as I mentioned above its https.

Let me get this right. Forget about the cc detail, what about your google account? You log into play store via proxy? i.e authenticate to google via proxy? Means they can probably try and capture your google account detail? I am no network expert but you create a https tunnel from the proxy server to the google server, and then from the proxy server to you. Anything that hits the proxy server is fair game? 2-step authentication would help but it sill seems risky to me or do I have it wrong?

Edit: interesting answer here: http://ask-leo.com/can_an_anonymous_proxy_service_capture_my_email_password.html seems like it does https end-to-end..

Annoying that it jumps to the very top of the list each time you delete an app from your list instead of remembering your position!

There is also the thing called 2 step authentication.

If you not using it then you may as well write your pin number on your cards.

Yeah if you read my reply you'll notice it. And I am using it, must say that it is a major pain in the butt at times as I have a lot of stuff that needs my google account.. But it helps me sleep better so ill continue to use it.

BTW John you still haven't accepted my bloody Asphalt 7 invite? :p

When you search for an app and you're typing in the letters and it displays the app before you search, they should include an install button that takes you to the confirmation step.

Its just me, I don't like to use any service that requires to keep my credit card details. I even buy all my xbox stuff with vouchers.

C'mon guys, just get a second CC for Internet purchases. Mine has a R2k limit. I deposit extra when I need to buy something that costs more.

If you wanna go that route, a simple Global one from Capitech would be cheaper and better. Only cost you R5 pm and you just transfer funds into it as needed.
