I'm having problems downloading Apps from Play Store for two weeks now. My wife bought Lenovo 10.1 Tablet. Inserted her sim and went on Internet. She too has problems downloading Apps from Play Store. We are both on Vodacom network. I've tried the following:
Cleaned cache from Play Store, Play Services, upgraded Playstore from Internet and deleted & added my Google account again.
Is anyone experiencing the same problem? Is it Vodacom or Google Play issue? Thanks

Have you checked the Play Store settings? Could be set to download over wifi only.

Yes, it was set to WiFi only. I changed it, but no diffs. I went back later and saw it was back to Wifi only. I dont know if it's a software problem. But why is my wife's Tablet doing the same? We are both Vodacom, but ALL other downloads from Play Store works except Apps. I can download books for Play Books from within Google Play Store, but not the Apps.

Check Settings>data usage. Press the 3 dots top right. Make sure Restrict background data is not enabled.
Also, under Settings>data usage>Vodacom-SA, make sure "set mobile data limit" is either disabled or set to a realistic value.

Are you on the latest version of the Play Store (4.8.20)? If not, under settings in the Play Store, long press on the version number to check for updates.

None of my devices (including Lenovo s6000 tablet) have an option to download over wifi only under play store settings.

I've got the latest version 4.8.20
Tried to download staight from App store on Internet and same story. I can download everything except Apps

Do you have access to wifi? If you do, see if you can download apps while connected to wifi.

It's possibly an issue with your Vodacom APN. Maybe someone else on Vodacom can let you know what the correct Vodacom APN is.
