Google Public DNS

Has anybody tried Google's Public DNS service yet?

The procedure to set it up is the same as OpenDNS except for the two DNS addresses which are:

8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4

Yup, 2 weeks ago when it hit the news. It's still faster if you use your local DNS. I only use OpenDNS or GoogleDNS when local DNS fails, and that is rare.

OpenDNS fixes all of my local problems with Vodacom HSDPA.

Has anybody tried Google's Public DNS service yet?

I have used it as a backup when Vodacom's DNS doesn't respond.

Gibson Research have a DNS Benchmark Utility, it would be interesting to compare our DNS speeds.

I must say that I have noticed that my connection seems snappier with Google DNS.
