Google pushing for TV over the Internet

35 Terabytes... Space is not an issue. :D

And the cost of those hard drives, with backups could probably get me 3 or 4 Full HD 3D 55" tvs. Or pay off a third of my car. Or pay for a deposit on a house. Or a nice overseas holiday. Or pay for a degree. Or entertainment centre/man cave.

Got those already ;)

Got those already ;)

But not all of us a quadrillionaires with all that stuff :p

And while I do use and like Sickbeard & Couchpotato ... having a proper "DSTV" or Cable service, without having to have a Decoder or spend fortunes would be awesome ... I like to watch discovery, Nat Geo, etc ... and yes, I know I can download a lot of stuff ... but then I have to go discover it. Having pay-tv just makes it easier.

And god forbid my Server stuffs out ... what a mission. I'm busy trying to set up a WHS 2011 now in place of my linux box, so that I can help my mom trouble shoot it over the phone ... what a frikkin mission. I assume Google would just work!

Oh, I am also hoping it will just work... but the reality is that regional restrictions and licensing agreements will most likely mean that we will never get to see a second of this in South Africa.

That's what Unotelly is for as chevron said ;)

I use it, and Hulu premium. Mostly for my mom though, not a fan of the Netflix selection.
