Google removes top ad blocker from Play Store

Reason I went to firefox, as chrome for android and its plugins just does not work.

Wow, a company that makes it living selling ads and personal information removes an app interfering with it's very existence.

So glad I'm an iOS user. Purify is a Godsend.

I can understand them doing this.

Not going to stop people from installing the app or others like it though.

Purify costs ZAR/USD/money

Is it really better than Focus by Firefox & BlockBear?

When I bought Purify the options you've listed weren't available as far as I can remember and Crystal allows some paid ads through.

I will definitely try the above-mentioned.

I use BLOCK IT on my phone.Removes all ads from all apps,no more yt vids nor image adverts.

You do because you keep replying. I want to block ads system wide anyway (eg. the youtube app). The beauty of Android.

What's this thread about? Google removing the said app and not some Android repo.

Does it require root access? Need to sort my system wide Ad blocking on Droid

The Verge reported that since the removal of Adblock Fast, two other Android ad blocking plug-ins have popped up: Crystal and Adblock Plus.

Huh, Adblock Plus has been around since whenever as an app. Irrc, it was also removed. All these apps can be side-loaded anyway. Though many are pro-blocking ads, it is Google’s game and a method in accommodating the developers so it can be seen as a violation. The Forumnites on here also use the Mybroadband Forum to promote brands, whether it is their own or a pro-choice, which is nothing more than a text-based ad.
