Awesome!

Changes to your Google storage plan
We’re contacting you because you currently pay for additional storage across Google Drive, Gmail and Google+ photos, and we wanted to let you know that we just launched new and improved storage plans. We'll automatically adjust your plan by 11 April 2014 to give you more storage at a lower rate.
Your current plan is:
25 GB for $2.49 USD per month

Your new plan will be:
100 GB for $1.99 USD per month

I would prefer buying data and it being mine. I don' like the monthly/yearly stuff.

Needs to be a service though as hard drives fail and need replacing. Unless you plan to drive to Google HQ and do a hard drive swap out yourself?

Lol, I understand why my preference is not practical. Just saying, in an ideal world, that's how I would prefer it.

And I don't mean Il own 100gbs of a specific hard drive. I would own 100gbs with google, where ever it sits.

I also once preferred storing everything local - but its so much easier with everything backup up to the cloud. I changed my strategy after my 2TB died on me :(

So true. I had the same thing happen with my 1TB, hence I went and started storing my stuff on Google Drive. Going to go for this aswell. :)

Pricing is quite reasonable, think I need to look into it. Already making use of Google Doc's for all my documents and find it the best solution if you are not tied to office. Easy to access it from any PC and never need to worry about backups.

Here is a link to the different storage plans offered by Google for those interested.

Who else has access to my files? Will Obama be looking at pics of my children?
