My question, too. What about the rest of the Chinese phone makers. Though Xiaomi is working with Google on a few projects, like the Android One phones and the Mi Box. Doubt they'll have a fight.

Just what we need. Break the hold Google has on at least one mobile device! Maybe that will get the message through that there are plenty of us out there that don't want all the bloatware that comes with anything to do with Google and Android!

There is plenty of Google related junk on my phone that I would love to get rid of permanently but can't. Even if you succeed to get rid of it it comes back over and over again. Hence my comment.
On my wife's Huawei, the bloatware stays away most of the time EXCEPT for the Google stuff. That comes back.
