Google unveils Mirage Solo VR headset

I wonder who the target market is for a $400 all-in-one VR headset?

Specifications:
Qualcomm Snapdragon 835
2x 5.5" 1280x1440 LCD
4GB RAM, 64GB storage, microSD slot
Inside-out positional tracking (similar to Microsoft WMR)

But... that controller  I'm honestly curious about what sort of content they're going to try entice people with to buy into buying a separate standalone device just for mobile-level VR. I can understand Samsung Gear's approach, since you can use the phone as a phone, but I can't people running out in droves to buy a $400 headset to watch Youtube or Google Earth in VR.
