Google Voice Search Fails

I was trying out Google's voice search on my S2 last night to see what functions I could perform with it. One cool thing is being able to play music (this is for JB+) just by saying "Listen to x.y.z".

I then discovered that some phrases or collections of words seem impossible for the voice search to figure out, the results however were quite amusing :D

Take on my challenge and try to get voice search to recongnise the following:

"Listen to turpentine"

I must have sounded like an idiot but I think I tried over 30 times to get it to recognise this and eventually got it (had to speak like a robot). The funny thing is that it often gives completely different results for the same phrase the most popular being:

- Listen to open times
- Lesotho curtain ties

Got some other random ones, some were hilarious.

Have any other phrases which your phone can't recognise?

When I dock my RAZR into its nav dock, when I get an sms, it speaks and says you have got a message from xyz.. Say listen to hear the message.

I sometimes say listen 20 times, eventually I try different accents and dialects, like a yank or pommy accent, it's more for humour though as I see this as more gimmicky than anything else.

Although the Navigate to xyz works very nicely.

I'm still praying for my ICS OTA

The reason I think these voice features are all round fail is because you have to be at your phone, pressing a button, wtf may as well press a button to do what you want?
This will get interesting if you can talk to your phone without having to press a button.

I was driving in jhb the other day and asked "where is the nearest kfc" and it popped up a map of them. Worked perfectly!

But trying to call my contacts from it is crazy funny with afrikaans names, I sometimes do it just for fun.
