Google vs Doogle threat may be exaggerated

Surely both sides of the story are investigated before being put online?
 
That Doogle logo looks ugly like someone added bits and pieces to it just to make it look different :sick:

Someone got free advertising. Well I'm certainly not going to visit doogle. No offence, I just don't have time to go everywhere on the web.
Wonder if there's a connection somehow to the media guys. I'd like to know if someone suggested that Google threatened to sue... surely that would be at least borderline slanderous if false?
 
I'm still struggling to work out why this is news. Trade mark disputes like this are common.
 
A free advertising stunt followed by all the sheep! Great way to make money online.
Reminds me of the student that made money by selling pixels... in the end companies bought the advertising since everyone was checking out the website. So the claim became true because people were curious to see how it looks. Profit!
I doubt Google is even aware of all this. Maybe the "journalists" need to check their facts before writing this hearsay

Google's statement is included in the article. They're fully aware of the headlines that are being put out there and yet they still decline to officially comment about specific cases, despite the feedback we've received that they didn't actually threaten the guy.

I know this is just asking for a flame war, but I did want to address the general disdain journalists and reporters are shown nowadays: Many of us, and certainly all of us at MyBroadband, bust our ass to bring you the (tech) news of the day.

Whether something is newsworthy or not is not determined in isolation or based on someone's personal opinion. The signals we get in the online world from our audience are far more easily trackable than in most offline media.

I wish mybb would start moving away from certain tabloit reporting behaviorism. Just because it shows on sites like theregister or inquirer doesn't make it news. The constant streams of apple VS the world comes to mind, I thought we were well over comparing penises as with console VS pc...

I don't see any sense in them doing that, though. The more news that they post - whether or not you feel it is news - the more people will visit the site, the better they rank on Google and the more money they make.
