I got this mail from Googleplex. Anybody knows what's up with this?

"Dear Reader,
Have you heard about Telkoms new "hard cap" policy that will be effective on November 1st?
Well, we have just the solution to that problem. Get an uncapped ADSL account today, and we will even show you how you can get it for free.
We have made our uncapped product available again, and we are giving you the opportunity to get your hands on one of these very sought after accounts.
Why is Googleplex uncapped so sought after? Because there are so few accounts available.
To give you a truly uncapped account and ensure that you get only the best experience we can only make a limited number of these accounts available.
As it stands at the moment, we have less that 100 accounts available and they are going fast.
Visit www.googleplex.co.za now to make you sure you don't miss out on this amazing opportunity to get Googleplex uncapped.

Regards

The Googleplex Team."

We have an affiliate program for all our customers that pays you commission for referring people to Googleplex. All you need to do is find 10 people who want googleplex uncapped and you will get your connection for free!

Once you have signed up we will give you more details on our affiliate program.

This just stinks of Pyramid scheme!!!

I just think googleplex should update the FAQ on the UUNET uncapped performance.

Primary concern, uunet uncapped is heavily shaped and unusable for anything game wise internationally, Im not talking 700ms, im talking anything from 700ms up to hell and back with 30-50% packetloss.

Basic definition of pyramid scheme: A scheme in which member pay money to be part of it for no other gain except to receive (more) money back. A pyramid scheme is generally unsutainable due to the fact that more and more more members are requiredt o keep it afloat. Pyramid schemes are ILLEGAL

Any "scheme" (for want of a better word) where a product is offered (ie. another value other than monetary) is not illegal and is not a pyramid scheme. It is usually refered to as Multi Level Marketing or in some cases direct marketing.

There are bodies to help regulate these sort of things (eg. the DMA - Direct marketing Association).

Basically what I am saying is, if you are getting another gain out of it (eg. uncapped ADSL in this case), it is legal.

umm well i heard that uunet accounts are decent. I dont really care about international gaming. But if the HTTP works well and the FTP is ok, and local traffic is good. i think it sounds good.

Also i dont know about you guys but if i could find 10 guys to sign up and get my account free all the better.
