Google's Android

Thank goodness its still in its early stages, because its reaaaally ugly.

We need an OS that is really pretty, completely customisable and easy to use, not to mention functional...it doesn't seem to be going in that direction (yet).

Thanks. So the OS is called Android, and the phone will be called Gphone retailing for $100? http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/industry_sectors/technology/article2363039.ece

no there is no physical phone - the Gphone rumours were all in reference to Android (i.e. a google phone would be any phone running the open source Android OS). As you can see that article is almost 3 months old back when the rumours were flying.

that phone in the first link is simply a virtual emulator for developers to test the operating system and their developed apps on.

Google released some info on his new phone
.

lol.

So if the Gphone is just a rumour or a speculation, or even if it isn't, then on what phones will you be able to use the android OS once built versions start getting released. Will it only be for smart phones or will you also be able to get your phone flashed etc and load that OS onto your "dumb" phone. IMHO the Vodafone look to all these phones is pretty dull and could use a bit of a change.
