I found this article : [ sauce ] on Fin24.

This is a magnificent approach to dealing with these tenders and the corruption. He is planning to re-centralise the procurement process.

According to the auditor-general, R600m was lost last year due to tender rigging by some 2 000 civil servants.
Ouch! I think this figure is way under.

He also stressed that corruption and tender fraud were not one-sided, saying businesses had also been feeding off available opportunities by, for instance, charging excessive prices.
This is the interesting point. He is saying that the company that sold the government the R1140 fax machine at R4000 is also guilty of corruption.

That little statement is going to scare the skin off the backs of the low life scum involved.

I can only hope that he remains true to his word and actions the payback to set an example of NOTE. Soon there will hopefully be lots of re-possessed BMW's on the market.

Political rhetoric, everything from the ANC sounds great, delivery of this though = complete fail

The way he points out the technical implications is a heck of a lot more direct than political rhetoric.
But, your point is quite valid based on past performance.

Yup, so is saying Shoot to Kill the criminals, if he does pull it off though i will be the first to apologise and provide the praise!

Between Gordham and Manuel I hope they drive all this rigging out of tender processes. It makes it impossible to get any government projects if you're not in someone's back pocket. We took a decision a long time ago not to do so (even if our partner companies do it on the sly) and now find ourselves in the private sector because we refused to buy our way in to government. And I must say that we're better off for it!
