I can't say how it compares to the S2, but it feels like a slightly boosted S3. (Ja... a S3 was my previous phone...)

It's auto updating now, downloading all the apps I had on the S3. So the transition is very VERY smooth.

Already restored my contacts via Gmail, so that is up and running...

The process at Vodacom World was not a joke...

I got there and then the lady at Metro sent me to Vodacare.

Vodacare had to CREATE a deal since the Note 2 was not on Metro's system...

I waited 45mins to get helped ONLY to be told that Metro CAN do it without Vodacare's help...

So then the lady could again not find the Note 2 on their system...

Luckily, they found it and an hour and a half later I walked out with my phone.

I got a R300 gift card too!!!

The phone is not that much bigger than my S3 so it will not be issue to fit into my pocket.

The S-Pen works like a dream! It's my first experience with a Note so I like it very much!

Call quality is great and the screen looks AWESOME. The resolution is very crisp.

It is a great phone.

I'm happy already!

I had to pay in R1499.00 on a Talk500 plus R150.00 upgrade fee.

Update : Just read the review and can't believe what Samsung has crammed into this thing!

How does it work as a phone? Superbly, thanks to a size that puts speaker and microphone closer to ear and mouth than smaller devices can manage and very good active noise cancellation. Also, that huge and removable battery proved capable of more than eight hours of HD video playback, and an easy 60 hours of call and data intensive general use.

PotShot-RSA went through all the trouble to post a link to a review for the Note 2, and if you've read it, you will see somewhere in the review the dude mentions that he can fit it in his jeans pocket.

It fits fine. It's really not THAT much bigger... The S3 feels puny now.

It is better than expected. I am really happy. I like a big phone. The Note 2 is my phone of choice.

Cheers for the review, do you know if anyone stocks like body gloves, covers etc for it yet? I've seen some really awesome body gloves for the Note 1 being used by a co-worker!
