Got milk? Anyways if you don't have speed a little birdy told me they are trying to clamp the bandwith manager slash throttle thingmajig further, apparantly it wasn't nazi enough before. Well we all remember what happened last time they did this, an event known as sh!tty April. Combine this with the rumours about WBS being skint and you might come to the conclusion that they are trying to save money at our expense.

iBurst is supposed to be a majestic beast free and fast but they keep putting it in a cage and poking it. COULD SOMEONE JUST OFFER AN UNCAPPED PACKAGE SO I DON'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS THROTTLING NONSENSE ANYMORE.

Yes, it will. What you do is send your iBurst modem to Axxess, and then order DSL.

Axxess will then at your choice:

1) Incinerate the modem
2) Send it back to WBS.
3) Use it as trophies on their walls.

R80 normal line rental
R329 ADSL line rental
R579 30gig via axxess

IOW, FSCKING Expensive !
 
Lol it might be expensive but its far cheaper than ibursts measely 9gb package and the service is FAR more reliable.
 
Telkom just needs to drop the ADSL line rental & most of us will dump iBurst for ADSL.

Does anyone know how far Telkom has progressed ito testing ADSL over Fibre Optics?

slimothy, you can get unlimited ADSL from http://www.isoftnet.co.za/ for R775 per month. You pay R480 for 512 kbps line (from 1th of August, but anyway you won't get it much earlier as you need a line) so it totals to about R1255 or so and you can download about 160GB+ by my calculations :-) working out at about R8 per GB compared to the iBurst cheapest which is about R120 per GB :-) I guess they pay air usage tax so that's why it is so expensive! For 15 times cheaper and 100 times more reliable, I think I would sacrifice the 1 Mbit speed for 512 kbps and live happily ever after! :-)

1Mbit speeds ? yeah right not from iburst :D
