My Mac Air 2012 is still going stron at home, use it every single day
My iMac 27" 2013 at work is on all day. never once had any issues

So cool that Macs dont get slower through the years, even with new OS's

I had a 13 inch 2012 years ago.

Upgraded to 16gb ram and 2 x 256 gb ssd's in some form of raid, best of all was I could do the ram and SSD upgrades myself.

I have a 2015 Macbook Pro. I love how it keeps my legs warm when I sit with it on my lap! Apple thinks of everything.

Got a Macbook Pro mid-2012 laying around at home, what OS would be best on this machine? I might have to downgrade the OS cause what its on now is making it operate at a snails pace! (pretty sure its got 14.x on it at the moment, is downgrading still a thing?)

i5, 8gig Ram, 1TB HDD

Is it worth my efforts? Machine looks immaculate

Swap out the HDD with an SSD.
