Sorry to say I think it's a waste of money
Anyway .... check out the specs of the cosole ... Not too shabby.....
320*240 backlit screen
Two 200mhz CPU's with 64meg of RAM
It takes 2 AA batteries, but gives you 6 - 10 hours from them
It can play movies without any re-encoding. Just put them onto an SD card. Any size. Any resolution. No messing about.
The GP2X scaling chip will resize to fit the screen. No other handheld can do that.
And .... Yes AND ..... takes conventional SD Cards ......
Nothing Proprietry about it (Are you listening Sony?)
Only sucky thing is the 2 AA batteries over a rechargeable battery.

Well they're cool, I dont really have the time to justify one. As for new players , I wish them well, but it's a difficult market:

2 AA is better than a recharghable, you can go out and buy yourself 6 x AA NIMH 2300mah batteris and a charger for like R130, and then when your batteries are flat, just pop in the next 2 and stick the other 2 onto charge, you'll never have to sit around with the damn console plugged into the wall!
