GParted LiveCD I/O error

I am in the process of dual booting my system and GParted LiveCD was highly recommended as a partitioning tool.

Have any of you used it and had issues? I am getting a "Fatal IO error 104". which from what I can see from various posts online is a video card error. I just wanted to know of the many different options, which options worked with resolving the issue.

download knoppix and use the gparted there (under system menu). It's a useful CD to have

well I see it's on ftp://ftp.is.co.za/linux/distributions/knoppix/ but it's like 700MB. Not keen to blow 700MB on something that might not work. The GParted ISO is only 30MB which is why I downloaded it.

Update: problem was in fact selecting the option which loads up whatever it does for an older PC even though it only a couple of months old.

Now I got Vista and XP running in tandem. Finally.
