In a shocking turn of events, the MTN coverage helpdesk doesnt actually provide any help, as one might be lead to believe.

Since Monday i havent been able to connect to my phones gprs. But only in one particular area. When i try connect, the little gprs icon below the signal bars doesnt appear and it just nevers connects. On the off chance it does actually connect, within a minute it stops working and gives me a "no gateway reply" error. It connects fine in other areas just a few kms away with the exact same settings im using, which would lead me to believe it to be a problem with the tower in this area.

So i emailed the coverage desk on wednesday and got a reference number. I only received a response this afternoon saying all the sites in my area are operational. So i don't know if it is my phone or sim or the towers, despite what they say.

Anyone have an idea?

What do you want to do with GPRS?
Is your phone only enabled for GPRS?
Do you want to use it as a modem?
Do you want to access internet on the cellphone?
Or do you just want to phone?

I normally phone them, they're a bit slow with email. Usually their advice is to turn the phone off for a few minutes. No idea why.
