GPRS/GSM/Wifi/Wireless LAN

I'm busy setting up my TyTN II (and it's really cool that you can just select your operator and country and it'll set all that up for you!).

But there are two things I'm a bit confused about. Firstly, I have the option to send SMSs via GSM or GPRS. Does GPRS work out cheaper, assuming you're on R2 per meg? And do you send and receive it just like normal?

Then secondly, I can set up Wifi, and I can set up a Wireless LAN. And I'm not quite sure what the difference between them is If I want my phone to be able to connect to my wireless router, which should I use?

I can answer one of your questions, sms via gprs is exactly the same as normal sms. You still get charged but sms over gprs will just send faster. As for the wireless settings i believe the wireless lan is if you setup the phone to enable devices to connect to it, like a access point, and wifi if you connect to a AP.

Yes, I have... wasn't too helpful on the SMS question, and I don't have it with me to refer back to the Wireless/Wifi question (thought I understood it at the time).

So the charging structure remains the same whether the SMS goes over GSM or GPRS, it's just the underlying transport protocol that's different... that makes sense, thanks.
