Gprs/wap ???

Okay, I know almost nothing about cellphones, so help me out here...

I've got a Motorola v500 (yes, its old, but I'm not rich) which apparently has WAP/GPRS capabilities - as well as the ability to MMS. What I want to know is what are the settings to get these things working? I've tried doing the download from the MTN website, I get it on my phone and it says it has upgraded and subsequently nothing changes and I still can't MMS or use GPRS/WAP

Would someone with an MTN contract with this stuff enabled please be able to post the settings for these things? MMS, GPRS, WAP, so I can actually get my phone to behave like everyone elses?

Call your service provider to get MMS & Data services activated. After this they will send you an "over the air" configuration message with all the settings.

If you don't feel comfortable doing this then just stumble into a MTN shop and hope that they are capable.

sometimes your provider has to have your account set for mms/gprs aswell!
and then if your phone is setup correctly it should work

to activate your mms dial *123*12#
You will receive a message telling you that you will be sent mms settings with instructions and if prompted for a pin enter 1234
once you receive your message, save your mms settings. when you have received a message telling you that your mms account has been activated you will be able to send and receive mms messages. check your cellphone manual for instructions on sending a mms from your sepecific cellphone.

to set up your cell phone for wap and internet access simply dial *123# and follow the easy instructions.
