Guys I am using an LG G7 for about 3 months now.

The phone loses GPS signal whenever the mobile data connection is on. I did a hard reset on the phone, deleted everything and set it up from scratch, 2 weeks in, it has started losing GPS signal again on Google maps and Waze, however if I turn off the data connection, GPS signal is more constant, the moment I switch on the data connection, the GPS signal runs off, I am with Telkom.

Anybody know what the problem could be?

did you try only installing Google maps after doing phone reset, and, then test?

Edit: double post. Deleted the first post.

Maybe your location method is set to use data/wifi only

It worked fine for a few days, then went back to this GPS connection lost crap.

I thought this was the case, but the phone is set to High Accuracy. I really don't understand why, I normally use waze for speed limits on some roads, at least with Google maps I can download offline maps but it doesn't give me the same functionality as Waze.
