So I lost mine :( Looking for a new one, and while I was perfectly happy with the AMOD ALG3080, I won't mind replacing with somewhere that is better in closed or obscure envoronments, more accurate or lighter on batteries.

What are you all using?

I must be something that shows up as an ordinary USB drive. I refuse to buy something that requires some fancy software to get the data off it.

Take a few pics with my cellphone which has GPS and I copy the co-ords to the photos from my other camera later.

That's what I'm doing now but it's rather cumbersome. And it's sucking the life out of my battery.

Thanks bwana, that looks interesting. Could you tell me how big the download is? I'm in Switzerland without my mac, and pulling anything over 3G is going to hurt my wallet.

I'm using the free version (2hr limit iirc) and it's 3.7mb - I doubt the full version will be much more than that though.

Thanks. I'll see if the hotel has usable wifi tonight.

koffie just pop into any one of the Starbucks shops and hop onto their wifi. It's free and normally fairly fast. You in Zurich by any chance? I'm meeting a few friends for a drink after work if you at a loose end.

How is this working for you? I find it terribly inaccurate if I use 3 or 5 seconds interval - off by several blocks while walking. I couldn't really use continuous, because I simply couldn't afford to drain my battery that quickly.

I also found I could export logs from the Trails app (I use it for cycling) via e-mail, but again, you have to leave it running. OK for a 45 minute ride, but not great for a whole day when I'm expecting a call.

Thanks MadMailMan. Yes, I am in Zurich. It's been a bit of a wild trip though - too much to do and too little time despite my stay being extended by the weather! Maybe next time :)

Apologies for the late revive - have just started becoming obsessed with geotagging, and use this app as well. The intervals after "continuous" are in *minutes* not seconds, thus the perceived inaccuracy.

Aah, that make sense. Thanks!

Update: I just bought another AMOD - works like a charm.
